The Vergennes City Council voted unanimously Jan. 29, 2024, to approve the written Warning for the city’s Annual Meeting scheduled for March 4, 2024. Deputy Mayor Dickie Austin moved to approve the Warning with a date revision; Alderman John Montgomery seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
Alderwoman Sue Rakowski pointed out a clerical error in the Warning, noting that the year in the first paragraph should read "2024." The council accepted that revision before voting to sign the Warning for distribution.
Present at the special session were Mayor Christopher Bearor, Deputy Mayor Dickie Austin, Alderwoman Sue Rakowski, Alderman John Montgomery (participating remotely), Alderwoman Cheryl Brinkman (in person), City Manager Ron Redmond, and City Clerk Penny Austin. The council recorded no visitors and noted there were no amendments to the agenda.
After approving the Warning, Deputy Mayor Dickie Austin moved to adjourn; Alderwoman Sue Rakowski seconded. The council voted 5-0 to adjourn, and the meeting ended at 6:00 p.m.
