The Vergennes City Council adopted the FY25 general fund budget and set the city tax rate for FY25 at 1.0712 after a unanimous vote on June 25, 2024. Deputy Mayor Austin moved the general fund budget and Alderman Koenig seconded; the motion passed 6-0.
Councilors said the budget reflects recent payroll and expense adjustments. City Manager Ron Redmond told the council staff had finalized calculations accounting for warrants, projected salaries and expenses. The council also passed a motion directing staff to set the Local Tax Rate for FY25 based on accurate execution of the existing calculation formula; that motion passed 6-0.
