On a recommendation from the Assessor, the Board reviewed a land-use-change-tax appeal for Building Block Commons, LLC. The discussion covered current-use acreage calculations, tax valuation adjustments, and RSA compliance. The Board denied the owner's amendment request, adjusted current-use acreage records to approximately 2.372 acres, and adjusted the market value used for change-tax calculations from $450,000 to $382,000; the motion passed unanimously (motion: Ian O'Reilly; second: Tom Balabon).
The Board also approved two personnel appointments: Linda Bennett was appointed Trustee of the Trust Funds and Tyler Poole of Rockingham County was appointed a part-time firefighter for Kensington Fire Rescue. Both appointments were made by motion of Ian O'Reilly, seconded by Tom Balabon, and were approved unanimously.
