Board member says she expected a summer break; board will meet again in August

During board-member remarks at the July 23 special meeting, Board member Margaret Turner Evans said she had expected the board to be off for the summer and expressed surprise there would be more meetings: "My only remarks are that, I thought we were off for the summer." She added that she understood there are two more meetings in August.
President Carlos McGee and other members acknowledged the comment; Board member Ernesto Castillo said he had no remarks. The board confirmed its next regular meeting is scheduled for August 5, 2026, and then adjourned at 5:21 p.m.
