City manager says Bridge #27 is safe; Vergennes pursues $5M federal request for workforce housing

Redmond said the funds would be administered by the city and used solely for hard construction costs, covering approximately 30% of the overall funding needed; he called the request a long shot but said the city would proceed with the application.
Council members heard the update as part of routine infrastructure and grant-seeking reports and did not take further immediate action in the April 9 meeting.
