Irwin adopts Ordinance No. 140 to annex southern 200 feet of Barrus Street right-of-way

The City of Irwin unanimously approved annexation of the southern 200 feet of the Barrus Street right-of-way (Ordinance No. 140) to correct a prior legal description that omitted the strip adjacent to 932 Barrus Street; the ordinance will be signed and processed.
At its Feb. 4, 2025 meeting the City of Irwin City Council voted to annex the southern 200 feet of the Barrus Street right-of-way into city limits and to process Ordinance No. 140 for signing and recording.
P&Z Administrator Jay Rice told the council that Ordinance No. 139, which annexed 932 Barrus Street into the city, had not included a 200-foot portion on the south side of Barrus Street. The annexation considered on Feb. 4 adds that omitted southern portion parallel to Lot 1, Block 1 (Three-Quarter Circle southern portion).
Council member Shane Fisher moved to accept the annexation as described; Council member Terrie Stromberg seconded. The motion passed on a unanimous voice vote. The council directed that Ordinance No. 140 be signed and processed to effect the annexation.
