The Town of Woodstock Zoning Board of Appeals recessed the public hearing for ZBA case 2605—an application by Aaron Yasin of West Norwegia LLC to subdivide a 5.190-acre lot in an R‑3 zoning district into a 3.00‑acre lot and a 2.19‑acre lot—after the applicant did not appear at the meeting.
“We can't proceed with a public hearing without the applicant present, and he ran into some traffic and isn't able to be here on time,” the Chair said, explaining the decision to close the hearing and recess the case. The Chair also told the public that the board had received an informal report from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and a planning-board response that did not provide substantive feedback.
The board moved formally to close the public hearing and to recess case 2605; a second was given and the board took an affirmative voice vote. A member of the public pressed to speak after the hearing was closed; the Chair declined, saying the board’s rules do not permit accepting comments after a hearing is closed and advising that comments may be submitted by email.
The Chair said she would confirm with the board attorney that the public hearing had been closed and whether any additional hearing must be scheduled. No new hearing date was announced at the meeting.
