Council approved Resolution 26‑34 on July 27 to authorize the city manager to enter an LPA federal project agreement with ODOT for the Grange Hall Road sidewalks project (PID 126390). Staff said the project would install a 5‑foot sidewalk with curb, gutter and storm sewer from Creekside Trail to Research Boulevard and tie into existing multi‑use paths and park connections.
The project was applied for through MVRPC as a transportation alternatives grant and was approved in early 2026. Staff outlined the funding split (approximately 75% federal and 25% local), with a federal share of $470,250 and local match of $156,700; design is scheduled to begin in 2028 with construction as early as 2030. An engineering presenter clarified the 5‑foot width was acceptable because an 8‑foot multi‑use path exists on the opposite side.
Council members asked about document dates in the LPA packet and staff said they would review and update factual items as needed before finalizing the agreement.
