Commissioners approve moving Spillman coordinator role to county IT and allow hiring

An IT official explained, "All of the public safety agencies in Noble County use it, and e 9 1 1 uses it. It's really our system," and asked for approval to recruit the role under IT. A commissioner moved to grant permission to advertise and hire; a second agreed and the motion passed. Staff said council approval for the budgetary placement already exists and the board's vote confirmed moving the position into IT for hiring and recruitment purposes.
Commissioners asked whether duties could be redistributed among current IT staff; the IT official said the workload is too high and the county will need a dedicated hire. The IT official said the job had been factored into next year's budget and that funding mechanisms exist so the move should be cost-neutral in county accounting.
