Warren County approves Act 13 grants for Sheffield and Columbus township park projects

Warren County Commissioners approved two Act 13 greenway/open-space grant applications at their July 15 meeting.
Staff explained the Sheffield Township application requests $14,360.22 of a $64,000 Memorial Park playground project; Sheffield Township is providing a $50,000 match from its general fund. The Columbus Township application requests $5,000 toward a $10,000 multiyear project to rehabilitate the gazebo at Mather Park, with the township providing the other $5,000. "Both of these do meet the description or definition of the Act 13 Greenway program," staff said. A motion to approve both applications was made and carried by voice vote.
The board recorded the awards and directed staff to finalize grant paperwork and contracts.
