The Wilson County Commissioners Court voted July 27 to accept an in-kind donation of 300 white Lifetime-brand folding chairs plus racks from the Wilson County Historical Society, intended for use at the Wilson County Expo & Community Center. Sharon Meyer, secretary of the Historical Society, told the court the donation would help seating for recurring events such as the Floresville Opry.
"This donation would improve the guest experience and support continued attendance for the Opry and other events held at the Wilson County Expo Community Center," Meyer said. Commissioners thanked the donor and asked that the society provide the storage racks because custodial staff cannot reasonably move the chairs without racks. Commissioner Perdola moved to accept the donation; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
