At the April 6 public hearing, commissioners and residents repeatedly returned to the importance of maps and clear legend design in the draft Town Plan. Mr. Hank Ainley emphasized that maps are a critical part of the Plan and said there had not been much public input on that piece; Mr. Hindinger and others asked for clearer identification of specific areas and adjustments to map legends to simplify public reading.
Commissioners asked participants to submit written map comments to Land Use Administrator Ryan Gumbart so staff could incorporate edits prior to the continued hearing on April 20, 2026. The Commission noted that improved map clarity would help the public understand which areas are intended for preservation, development, or special standards under the Plan.
