At the April 6 public hearing, several participants urged the Planning Commission to sharpen the Town Plan’s energy and renewable facility language. Commissioners and attendees also discussed wind-generation standards and suggested labeling them as "additional standards" under renewable energy. Separately, Mr. Arrison warned that Highway Department use of salt and chloride poses a risk to groundwater and recommended including mitigation strategies and a plan for strategic sand use. Commissioners asked for written technical comments and map clarifications to ensure that energy and environmental protections are articulate and implementable before adoption.
