The fire department reported an ambulance was taken out of service after a traffic accident and that insurance determined the cab was not repairable. To restore response capacity without waiting for a multi‑year new vehicle lead time, staff recommended remounting the existing type‑1 ambulance box onto a 2023 Ford chassis procured through the HGAC cooperative contract AM10‑23 with AllSource Enterprises LLC doing business as Safe Industries.
Council authorized amending the FY2026 budget to fund the remount and approved up to $122,900 for the purchase; insurance proceeds of $50,642.87 will be applied to the cost upon finalization of the claim. The resolution passed unanimously and staff will proceed with purchase and remounting under the cooperative procurement.
