Council authorizes $6.27M contract (federal match) for Broken Arrow Expressway corridor design

The scope covers sidewalk and multimodal connections, corridor reconstruction, potential interchange improvements and bridge work; the contract funds design through a 60% set of documents to position the project for future construction grants.
"The total contract is for $6,274,918," Charlie Bright said, adding the grant is an 80/20 match so the city's portion is approximately $1,254,984. He said the work is a multi-year effort that could take five to 10 years to reach construction and noted the city will pursue additional federal grants at the 60% design milestone.
Council moved to approve the project contract authorization and seconded the motion; staff will execute the agreement and proceed with design and grant-seeking steps.
