Howard board approves Certified Survey Map to relocate cluster mailbox; vote 8-1

The Village Board approved a Certified Survey Map for the Village of Howard and MVP Developers covering 624 and 628 Lacona Court (lots VH-4641 and VH-4643) that relocates a planned cluster mailbox unit from a Village-owned stormwater pond outlot to Lot 17 within the development. Directors Dave Wiese and Josh Gerrits said the relocation eliminates Village responsibility for snow clearing around the mailbox and that the Village coordinates mailbox siting with the United States Postal Service during planning.
Trustee Maria Lasecki moved and Trustee Ray Suennen seconded approval. The motion carried 8–1; Trustee Craig McAllister cast the lone no vote. The minutes record that the mailbox unit had not yet been constructed and that USPS approval is part of the planning process but was not yet final.
