Beavercreek officials on July 27 accepted the tax rates and tax budget certification required by the county budget commission and Ohio law. City staff noted the action is required under Ohio Revised Code sections 5705.28 and 5705.281 and described the start of the 2027 budget process.
City staff summarized the local fiscal picture: the county auditor’s preliminary numbers project roughly a 6% increase in general‑fund property tax revenue; overall valuation in Beavercreek rose about 17% on average from the county reappraisal. Staff emphasized that statutory caps on how reappraisal growth flows to inside millage limit the city’s revenue windfall — estimating an overall city revenue change around 2% under current funding assumptions. Staff also flagged items the budget will treat in more depth, including capital needs, personnel costs and a $300,000 projection for marijuana excise taxes. Council approved Resolution 26‑33 by voice vote and set public budget hearings for Nov.16 and Nov.18.
