Chair previews packed Amherst work session, schedules eight public hearings

The Chair opened the Town of Amherst work session on July 27, 2026 and told attendees the evening would include a long agenda and a later 7:00 p.m. board meeting. “We have a total of 8,” the Chair said when listing the public hearings scheduled for the evening.
The Chair read a set of items the board will consider, including three resolutions submitted by Councilmember Kavanaugh that the Chair proposed be added to the consent agenda. The meeting will also include department head reports, multiple procurement and contract items, and an executive session that the Chair said will include the board, Town Attorney Jessica O'Neil and several other staff and advisers to discuss, among other matters, an update on the Boulevard Mall. The Chair said the Northtown Center ice resurfacer bond resolution will be held for the 7:00 p.m. meeting so it can be taken by voice vote.
