The planning commission approved the Crowder Division final plat to split 0.35 acres on North Spring Street into two lots, with the approval conditioned on variances to be decided by the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Staff said Lot 1 would be 0.21 acres with an existing residence and accessory structure; Lot 2 would be 0.15 acres (6,424 square feet) and vacant. "Lot 2 would require 1,076 square foot lot size variance and a 3 foot lots lot width variance," the clerk said. The clerk read a motion by Telly Mullenax and a second by Michelle Richardson. The clerk called a roll and announced: "motion passes with a vote of 3 ayes to 2 nays and no abstentions," noting Ogletree and McDonald voted no.
During discussion a board member asked whether the new line would affect an adjacent church; staff replied the northern boundary is existing and the middle line being created would not change the church property line. The approval is conditional on the BZA rulings on the two variances; the transcript records the motion, the roll call, and the clerk’s announcement of the 3–2 result.
Action: Motion by Telly Mullenax, second Michelle Richardson; vote: 3 yes (Telly Mullenax, Michelle Richardson, Robert Jolly), 2 no (Mark Ogletree, Ricky McDonald).
