The commission recommended approval of Z-7008-SP-1v, a minor amendment to the Corridor Development Plan for Tulsa Hills to allow a large (>250-person capacity) indoor assembly and entertainment use limited to a specific space so Jenks Swim School can operate within an existing commercial unit.
Staff said the amendment would be limited to the identified area (Development Area A) and would not add large assembly uses across the entire development area; staff reported no comments had been received on the added use. Staff further explained that building code and permitting will determine what space improvements are necessary to support the swim school.
Commissioner Turner-Addison had requested moving the item from the consent agenda to the public hearing to hear more about the project. After discussion the commission voted 10-0-0 to approve the amendment per staff recommendation. The item will move to City Council for final action.
