Offender Management Board rules: committee approves lowering continuing-education requirement

Nancy Boley, program manager for the Idaho Offender Management Board, presented pending rule docket 5701012501 and said it accomplishes two goals: reducing continuing-education requirements for private licensed evaluators and removing duplicative incorporated-by-reference language.
"It reduces a regulatory burden by reducing the number of continuing education credits required for private licensed individuals," Boley said, and she told the committee the negotiated-rulemaking process took place on April 11, 2025. A committee member clarified that the requirement is being lowered from 40 to 30 hours; Boley confirmed that the change appears in documents incorporated by reference. Senator Wintrow moved to approve the docket with an early effective date of sine die; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
