Coroners and county representatives back SB 1250 as a balanced step to protect families’ dignity

Kelly Brasfield, representing the Idaho Association of Counties and co-chair of the ICJC coroner system subcommittee, said the legislation "protects the integrity of law enforcement and medical-legal death investigations, while also safeguarding the privacy of surviving family members." Both witnesses highlighted that coroners and counties will seek to preserve investigative integrity and consult prosecutors when decisions about release are contemplated.
