Senator seeks higher small-claims limit to ease dispute resolution

"This RS updates Idaho small claims court limit from $5,000 to 15,000," Galloway said, and asked the committee to grant a hearing so his constituent could testify in support.
The chair called for a motion and the committee voted by voice to send RS33312C1 to print. The motion carried without recorded roll-call tallies. The committee did not debate the policy merits during this session; Senator Galloway framed the change as a way to allow owner-operators and small businesses quicker, less costly remedies.
