An animal services representative told the advisory board that the county’s “fix‑it” ticket approach allows owners time to address issues — such as licensing, rabies vaccination or animals running at large — before a ticket is issued. “The fix it ticket is actually really great because it gives, animal owner a chance to fix the problem before we actually give them a ticket,” the representative said.
The speaker said intake numbers have declined and that the county’s clinic can assist residents in arranging spay/neuter services and vaccinations. They encouraged residents who need help to reach out to Beaufort County for assistance and noted mandatory spay/neuter requirements for certain breeds were enforced through the program.
The board did not take a vote on animal services policy during the meeting; the discussion was informational and included an invitation to residents to contact county animal services for support.
