The board approved a stipend structure for the development review board (DRB) and planning commission: $50 per meeting for members, with hourly pay of $25 after two hours; the stipend was made retroactive to Jan. 1.
"I make a motion that we, decide that we determined to pay the planning commission slash the future development review board, a stipend for their monthly meetings in the amount of what did we decide? $50 and $50 for meeting unless the meeting exceeds 2 hours in which it would move to an hourly rate," said Committee member (S3) as they moved the motion. The motion was seconded and carried by voice vote; one member recorded an abstention in the transcript.
Members discussed whether the DRB positions would be appointed by the selectboard or become elected positions at a later election and agreed the selectboard would appoint interim DRB members to serve until the next cycle. Staff were directed to add $5,200 (plus a modest contingency) to the general fund budget to cover stipends and to roll wage items into payroll as necessary.
