The Select Board reviewed transportation goals and recent safety work, including a newly installed island at Crosby Drive and ongoing neighbourhood traffic‑calming efforts.
Staff emphasized continuing to advance roadway, pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements and piloting measures including a target‑speed policy. Several board members raised concerns about e‑bike and motorized scooter safety and asked staff to pursue advocacy and enforcement options; one member said, “I think we should lead on that.” Staff noted limits to enforcement in some locations (signage thresholds) but said additional signage and enforcement where allowed are already occurring in targeted places, such as removing motorized vehicles from posted fields.
On Wilson Park, staff said the ad hoc committee recently supported schematic design guidance and will report recommendations later in the fall; the board agreed to keep that goal on the FY27 list.
