La Crosse firefighters receive approval for 'Fill the Boot' MDA fundraiser on Sept. 2

Erin Stotts, representing La Crosse Area Professional Firefighters Local 127, asked the Board for permission to hold an off-duty 'Fill the Boot' fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Sept. 2 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the corner of 4th and La Crosse, with a rain date of Sept. 3. Stotts said all proceeds go to MDA, the event is staffed by off-duty members, and MDA carries $1,000,000 of liability insurance for the event.
The Board approved the request without discussion and thanked the firefighters for their long-running fundraising; Stotts noted Local 127 has raised more than $100,000 in the city over the past 25 years.
