Two industrial sites under study; Advantage Machinery to receive sewer extension in Yadkin County

Garrett Dinkins, Economic Development Director, said the Golden Leaf site‑identification grant is wrapping up and identified two promising locations for potential industrial development: a site off Route 601 and a site at 67 and Messick in Jonesville. Dinkins said further study will determine which site is most suitable.
Dinkins reported a utility grant will extend sewer service to Advantage Machinery to support a building addition as the company expands, and that the PVH building is under contract with closing expected this week or next; he said the incoming company is maintaining a low profile and no employer details were released. He also described outreach work, including an April 23 industry luncheon (about 60 RSVPs) and a July 20 Summer Educator Exchange with nearby partners to connect teachers with manufacturers on local skill needs. Dinkins noted that county staff hold a corner property for the ChildPlex project and that adjacent development activity is ongoing.
