Kevin Cole briefed the board that SEK Interlocal #637 negotiations will begin the week after the June 14 meeting and that the Interlocal plans a 2% assessment increase for the coming school year. He also said the Interlocal is working on a 'grow your own program' intended to develop values and pipeline opportunities between employers and employees.
Cole said he attended the first in-person Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) meeting in a year and found it valuable; he reported that Randy Watson presented information at the meeting and that KSDE regional elections are open though no board members expressed interest in running, so Cole will continue in that role.
