USD 506 approves purchase of four buses totaling $292,480; maintenance vehicle tabled

At the June 14 meeting the Labette County USD 506 board approved two motions to purchase district buses from Midwest Transit. Brian Harlow moved to buy two new buses at $84,508 each; that motion passed 6-0. Rich Falkenstien then moved to purchase two off-lease buses at $61,732 each; that motion also passed 6-0. Taken together, the four buses total $292,480.
A separate motion to purchase a maintenance vehicle was tabled to the July meeting after Rich Falkenstien made the motion to table and Kevin Cole seconded. The board took no further action on the maintenance vehicle at the June meeting.
