Marysville library reports summer programs, a ‘library of things’ and meal distribution

She described a soft rollout of a “library of things” — about 10–12 items such as a disc-golf set that patrons can check out — and said the library launched the Canopy streaming service July 1 for cardholders. Lisa also reported the library has distributed roughly 50 meals per week since July 1 through a partnership with Catholic Charities, providing five days’ worth of lunches and milk to children aged 1–18.
Council members and staff asked how residents and visitors would learn about the new services; Lisa pointed to the library’s website and social media posts and encouraged patrons to contact Mandy with ideas. The library representative said she and the staff are evaluating hours and outreach to better match community needs.
The library update was delivered during the public-comment portion of the meeting; council took no formal action on the report but acknowledged receipt and thanks.
