Chief Bunderson told the council the department is fully staffed and that the investigation into the Dec. 19, 2025 shooting remains open. He reported calls for service increased to about 4,800 in 2025 (compared with roughly 4,500 in earlier years). He said K-9 Elly is certified and sworn in and described plans to install Flock camera units around town: locations include Red Cap corner for southbound traffic, a location at 3700 N/3400 E, units at 3600/3500 to capture north/south traffic and one west of the railroad tracks on Center Street to capture east/west movement.
Public Works Director Brian Reed reported crews are prepared for winter snow and that scheduled PI and water system work is on schedule. Staff said they will follow up with the school district and developers about underused bus pull-outs and report back to the council.
