Roxanne Reed, a Hamptonville resident and owner of a lodging farm at Buzzard Rock, told the Yadkin County Board of Commissioners that a tow-storage and mechanic operation at the main entrance to Macy Road has repeatedly trespassed on her property and disrupted guests and animals. "We have spent close to $2 million on the property," Reed said, noting the figure includes purchase, upfits and business development. She said the business operator has scaled back visible activity when county staff inspect the site but continues work at night and on weekends.
Reed said she and her husband, a retired veteran, have worked with Planning & Zoning staff — praising Brittany Anderson and her team — but that legal counsel advised notifying the Board and County Attorney to address ongoing trespass and disturbance. The Board did not take immediate action at the meeting; Reed asked the county to be aware of the issue and to provide any available assistance while she and her counsel continue to pursue remedies through Planning & Zoning and legal channels.
