La Cygne advances water-plant upgrades and Linn Valley connection; council approves equipment purchases

Public Works Director Dan Nasalroad reported final cleanup of the Water Plant improvement project phase 2 and work coordinating the City of Linn Valley water connection, stating that "the initial feed of water to the Linn Valley supply line has been performed." He also briefed the council on meter replacements, sewer lagoon desludging, and the planned Subsurface work-order rollout with training scheduled for February 2026.
The council approved Purchase Order No. 2025-12 for a Phipps & Bird programmable jar tester for $4,331.95 and Purchase Order No. 2025-13 for $1,500 for a 40 x 40 36" smooth bucket. Council also authorized the Mayor or City Clerk to sign paperwork to list 402 S. Broadway for sale at $21,000 to cover demolition expenses, back taxes and the deed transfer. All motions recorded at the meeting passed by 4-0 votes.
