Senate passes deficit bill with funds for Jackson water litigation and other capital needs

"We had $4,000,000 for renovation and repair and relocation at the Bolton Building down the coast...We agreed on $6,000,000," the sponsor said in floor remarks. Leadership told senators that some deficits, including Medicaid and possible child-protection services needs, remain unresolved and are likely to appear in subsequent deficit bills. The strike-all was adopted and the bill was passed by morning roll call.
Senators were told that MEMA-related reimbursements and an EMPG reconciliation will likely be addressed in the next deficit bill; the floor discussion flagged the Jackson litigation and MEMA disaster funding as items already covered in this conference.
