Bridget Martorano, introduced to the commission as the new recreation coordinator, told commissioners she started in the role on July 16 and has already revamped the upcoming recreation brochure. "I just transitioned into this position, on July 16, and I'm looking forward to continuing to serve our community in this new role," Martorano said.
Martorano summarized program timelines: the Safe Key summer program ends Aug. 7, the school‑year Safe Key program begins Aug. 10 to align with CCSD start times, Tiny Tots classes begin Aug. 24, and Jazz at Bicentennial Park is scheduled for Sept. 19. She said summer youth sports camps ran Monday through Thursday in June and July and generated approximately $21,850 in revenue. Youth soccer registration is open for pre‑K through 8th grade with games beginning Sept. 8 and a preseason clinic in early August.
