La Grande SD 1 appoints two members to budget committee after two resignations

The La Grande School District No. 1 board accepted the resignations of Budget Committee members Corrine Dutto and Wilson Zehr and unanimously appointed Nicole Howard to a term ending June 30, 2027 and Chris Evans to the remainder of a term ending June 30, 2026. Director Robin Jolin moved to accept the resignations and later moved the appointment; motions were seconded and passed unanimously.
Board Secretary Debra Comfort had earlier announced the vacancies and noted both new applicants were up for consideration at this meeting. The appointments were recorded as formal actions in the board's minutes and will take effect immediately for upcoming budget committee meetings in June.
