Over the course of a lengthy appropriations calendar, the House completed final passage on numerous agency budgets and deficit appropriations and recorded several recorded votes of note. Highlights from the calendar include the adoption of a MEMA revolving loan fund conference report (House recorded vote 121-0), passage of the Department of Agriculture and Commerce appropriation, passage of the corrections strike-all with reporting and RFP mandates (116-1), and a rejected Tougaloo amendment to MAICU funds (40-71).
Members also processed reappropriations of federal coronavirus funds and routine special-fund agency appropriations across higher education, veteran affairs, and public safety. Leaders said many of the house positions are subject to conference with the Senate, and staff reminded members of the September sweep deadline on reappropriated ARPA/CRF dollars.
