Council hears updates on Holland Farms, Canyon Glen and other local developments

Craig Eckles, City/P&Z Administrator, told the council that negotiations with utilities are continuing for the Holland Farms project west of Canyon Glen and described the parcel as "about 80-acres, 144 homes." He said there have also been inquiries about the Kelly Munsee property east of 1st Federal Plaza and adjacent to Ridley's, and that a separate parcel north of The Boat Dock has recently been purchased.
City Engineer/Public Works Director Brian Reed said public works is preparing for spring work and that Big Sky is still installing water mains with Phase I nearing completion and Phase II to follow. He reported Canyon Glen's plat and specifications were approved ("about 97 homes") and staff hope to break ground in the next 30–60 days. Reed also noted a culvert installation on Western Way had problems that public works will repair and that equipment ordered last fall will be arriving in the coming weeks.
