Superintendent George Mendoza brought the recommendation to the board after sharing staff feedback about the Nov. 7 date. The board approved an updated 2025–26 calendar (Attachment A) implementing the change. The motion was recorded in the meeting minutes as “Canceling school on Friday, November 7, 2025, for students and staff. June 5, 2026, will become the last day for the students for the 2025-2026 school year.”
The minutes state the vote was unanimous. Michelle Moore was listed as absent in the meeting attendance; the transcript records the motion outcome as unanimous without a roll-call tally of individual votes. The district will publish the updated calendar and notify families of the revised student calendar.
