Board hears first reading of updated personal electronic device policy, set to return Sept. 10 for consent approval

Superintendent George Mendoza presented the first reading of policy JFCEB (Personal Electronic Devices) and the related administrative regulation JFCEB-AR, noting the changes are recommended and that the policies could affect collective bargaining and the definition of parent. Mendoza told the board that if no further changes are submitted the policies will return on the Sept. 10 consent agenda for final approval.
Board members received the first reading and did not take a final vote at the special session. The district provided Attachment B as the policy update packet; any substantive edits from board members or the public were invited before the Sept. 10 meeting.
