Superintendent George Mendoza presented three options for the Nov. 7 calendar date during the Sept. 10 meeting and asked the board which approach staff should pursue.
Option 1 would make Nov. 7 a student holiday with a staff development day (possible venue: the Armory). Option 2 would keep the regular school day. Option 3 would make Nov. 7 a day without school for either staff or students and move the school day to either May 8 or June 5. The board indicated a preference for Option 3 and asked Mendoza to work with staff to finalize the decision and logistics.
