The Umatilla School District Board unanimously approved multiple routine and administrative items at its Aug. 14 meeting, including the consent agenda, the 2025–26 student handbooks, daycare pricing, the extra-duty list and submission of a 2025 C-Rep Energy Grant application. Board Chair Lesly Claustro-Sanguino called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.; Superintendent Heidi Sipe identified an agenda error and the board corrected it before voting.
The consent agenda—covering the July meeting minutes, HR report, supervisory and staff conflicts of interest, disbursements and financial statements—was approved after Board Member Jon Lorence declared a conflict of interest. Multiple subsequent motions to adopt the handbooks, daycare pricing, the extra-duty list and to submit the C-Rep grant passed on unanimous 7–0 votes. The board did not take action on surplus wrestling mats and agreed to revisit that item at a future meeting.
