Main Canyon Road chip-seal planned for June; stormwater master plan awaiting state clearance

"Project is scheduled for 06/15/2026 for the chip seal and to be completed by June 30," the clerk reported. Staff said they met with the contractor and remain on schedule, though members asked the town to avoid the scheduled work falling before a local marathon in early June.
Council members also heard an update on the CDBG-funded stormwater study and environmental clearance. Staff said the environmental document for the stormwater study has been approved and that the state requires final master-plan completion before construction clearance; the state requested tribal consultation and reported no responses in the 30-day review window. Once the environmental document is approved at the state level, the town will need the mayor's signature on the clearance paperwork prior to bidding the construction segment.
Separately, the council was told the joint highway committee awarded funds for a future streets project; design is anticipated to start in October 2027 with construction in October 2028. Staff cautioned that specific grant and local-match dollar amounts were unclear in the meeting transcript and will be confirmed in future materials.
