The Greenwood County Commission voted April 6, 2026, to award a contract to Knowles Construction for $61,750 to build a 40-foot by 140-foot replacement structure for the county’s road-and-bridge and impound lot. The bid from Knowles was the lower of two offers; Koop Fence and Barn had bid $65,000.
Sheriff Heath Samuels presented the two bids and confirmed the structure dimensions during the meeting. Commissioner Mac Obourn moved to approve the Knowles Construction bid and Commissioner Judd Everitt seconded; the motion carried unanimously, 5-0. The commission’s action authorizes moving forward with the purchase at the approved contract amount.
