Greenwood County Commissioners accepted the resignation of Salt Springs Treasurer Joan Penner and approved a township-requested personnel change on March 9, 2026. County Clerk Deann McCaffree presented Penner’s resignation letter and a township letter stating the current board clerk would move into the treasurer role if the commission approved the transition.
On a motion by Commissioner Judd Everitt, seconded by Commissioner Ron Mast, the commission approved Tami Vancil as Salt Springs Township Treasurer. The vote was 4-1, with Commissioner Mac Obourn recorded as opposing. Commissioners also formally accepted Joan Penner’s resignation in a separate motion that passed 5-0. The action was entered on the record and will be reflected in township staffing and payroll records.
