Longtime parks and trails supervisor Todd Zawalski honored at council meeting

Mr. Manchester read a career summary noting Zawalski began as a seasonal employee in 1988, was hired full time in 1990, returned to parks in 1994 and became parks and trails field supervisor in 2006, overseeing more than 50 parks and over 100 miles of trails.
Zawalski addressed the council and recounted highlights from his career, including maintaining ball fields, plowing snow and a stint working with film crews at the arena. He closed by thanking staff and the community and asked the council to consider a commemorative day and potential park‑name change as lighthearted suggestions. The mayor and council thanked him for his years of service.
