Long Drop Task Force: survey finds confusion about drop length, conduit and wording; funding likely insufficient for all demand

The Long Drop Task Force reported the community survey remains open and is highlighting three principal problems: residents don’t know how far their drop would need to be, they don’t know whether they have conduit, and some survey questions are confusing.
Task Force members said more data are needed before making recommendations to the board. Several board members noted there appears to be more demand for long-drop connections than funding will cover. Chair Jeff Tilton reported that CCI had been asked whether the first 500 feet of a longer drop would be covered and said CCI responded no.
Stephen Friedman and other members pressed for clarity about where the connection point will be located and emphasized that residents often cannot determine need until CCI inspects properties. The Task Force will continue collecting responses and working on clearer survey wording before returning with recommendations.
