The Umatilla School District (Umatilla SD 6R) board convened on Sept. 11, 2025, and voted unanimously on a set of routine and governance items, including approval of the meeting agenda and the consent packet containing August minutes, HR reports, conflicts-of-interest disclosures, disbursements, and financial statements.
Board Member Travis Eynon moved to approve the consent agenda; Board Member Toby Cranston seconded and the motion passed 6–0. During the consent discussion, Clara Brownell Middle School Principal Rick Cotterell clarified that the two middle-school assistant coaches are assisting with middle-school track, saying they "are assisting with the middle school track." The board recorded the approval as unanimous for the consent packet.
Later in the meeting, the board approved its Board Goals (motion by Board Member Toby Cranston) and the Superintendent's Goals as adjusted (motion by Board Member Steve Warr), each by unanimous 6–0 votes. The board also adopted policy JFCEB (Personal Electronic Devices) and the associated administrative regulation JFCEB-AR (Request for Personal Electronic Devices Exception) after a motion by Board Member Jon Lorence; that measure likewise passed unanimously.
These actions were recorded as formal motions and votes on the public record. The board did not receive public comment during the meeting and adjourned at approximately 7:41 p.m.
