Sheriff: 510 county contacts in August; bid received for patrol pickup, deputies to work overtime for state trial

County Sheriff Jon Lopp presented the Meagher County Sheriff’s Office Complaint Report for August 2025 and gave counts of calls and contacts: "three hundred six (306) incoming calls, thirty-six (36) 9-1-1 calls, and one hundred sixty-eight (168) people coming into the office," totaling 510 contacts. He reported two incidents in the city and two in the county requiring National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) submissions; two tickets were issued in the city and four in the county. Lopp also reported zero warrants served and noted civil papers served (four city, two county).
Lopp said the office received a bid for a new 2025 F-150 4x4 patrol pickup and that deputies will be assigned overtime for a week-long state trial at the end of the month. The report was presented to the commissioners as routine monthly business during the Sept. 9 meeting.
